Scottish Slate Gift was born by me, Ema Davies, with a little help from my partner Grant (and my 2 children and 2 Huskies!)
About our brand and history
We thought of the idea when looking for slate products to give as gifts to friends and family and we were disappointed in how most of the slate gifts were made outside the UK and then imported into this country. Given that Grant has around twenty years experience working with slate and I have a more crafty side, it seemed a good idea to combine both of our qualities to create high quality slate gifts that can be used inside your house and outside.
All our gifts are hand made by us in our workshop in the Scottish Borders
In fact most of our orders are made on the day and dispatched normally within 10 working days( excluding busy times like xmas ); they are 100% handmade by us. We now produce many products using Slate and Granite and are adding to our range all of the time. Slate is a fantastic material to work with as no two pieces are the same, but one thing each piece has in common are the slates we use are of a high quality, there are a huge range of slate available but we only use T1 and S1 quality slate for our gifts to give you our customer a quality end product. Our Neo Black Granite signs are made using high quality granite , each sign is 16mm to 20mm thick.
We always over package our items and recycle anything to use as protection within the boxes to avoid any bumps and bruises. We have all our orders collected by courier and every item can be tracked to make sure your gifts arrive safely. We always try to have our orders out as swiftly as possible even at busy times.

Our wood is carefully selected from our local mill then we work by hand to sand and oil the wood following the grain and contours.With more gift ideas being created we have more than just slate , perfect for weddings,christmas,birthdays etc.
