PRODUCT CARE

All our products are made by hand in the Scottish Borders.

We treat them with only natural oils and waxes.

The only aftercare required is a little natural oil rubbed onto the surface. Please do not use aggressive cleaner on your product.

Slate is a fine-grained, foliated, homogeneous metamorphic rock derived from an original shale-type sedimentary rock composed of clayor volcanic ash through low-grade regional metamorphism. It is the finest grained foliated metamorphic rock.^[1] Foliation may not correspond to the original sedimentary layering, but instead is in planes perpendicular to the direction of metamorphic compression.
