Shapes and sizes are random , the slate has been cut by hand since 1692 and was created to cover the roofs over Glasgow and Edinburgh. Since the closing of the quarry in 1955 the only Scottish slate can only be found reclaimed with each year passing the slate gets more rarer and harder to find.
